My Goals for March 2017

Hello Friends,

Oh my… February just flew by! Is it really March already? So much for catching up on things in February, it just didn’t happen. However, February was a very exciting month to say the least!

A lot happened, but best of all… I got engaged the weekend following Valentine’s Day! Ever since, a lot of time and thought has been put into planning a wedding. Hence, the reason why some other things have fallen to the wayside. Even while I write this post my best friend and I are texting wedding ideas back and forth. πŸ™‚

Wedding planning is a lot of fun – and I have a super amazing fiance’ helping me with all the planning. πŸ™‚ I am so thankful for a man that honestly cares about the details of our wedding! Since we got such a good head start on the wedding plans, they should slow down for a bit. There is only so much you can do so many months in advance.

Some of my goals for March do involve wedding plans – but here’s a peek at what else I am hoping to accomplish this month.

My Goals for March 2017

Spend More Time Using My Spiritual Journal – I shared about my spiritual journal in this post, and it’s something that has been a great tool in my walk with God. I have neglected my journal quite a bit in the last couple months, so I want to make sure I am using it at least a few times each week, if not, everyday.

Work Ahead in Blog Posts – This week and next week are much slower than most of my previous weeks. So, I am looking forward to writing blog posts and getting ahead. I will be off of work for few days next week in order to get my wisdom teeth removed – and depending on how I feel… I want to take advantage of the down time to write and write and write…. πŸ™‚

Think: Health & Fitness – I’ve noticed that when I make health and fitness a priority, everything else seems easier to manage as well. I am not sure why. Maybe it’s because I need to PLAN health and fitness into my life. As a result I end up planning everything else too. I don’t expect to get fit in one month – I know better than that! But… I am making the effort to pull out my favorite health and fitness books and remind myself WHY I need to do this. Fitness isn’t just for vanity – feeling better and being motivated improves all the other areas of my life as well. I just need to get back into that “healthy” mindset.

Read Two Books – Last month I wanted to finish 4 books. I managed to finish one. [*Sigh*] I never thought reading would take such a backseat in my life!  I just haven’t been making it a priority. Wedding ideas are awfully distracting when it comes time for reading. πŸ˜‰ Thankfully, I have some amazing books on my to-read list that I am really looking forward to devouring!

Clear Out My Room – I’ve noticed that getting rid of clutter and re-organizing is NOT a one-time thing, but something that needs to be done quite often. My two closets and my makeup drawers are getting a bit out of hand. Time to buckle down and clear out. πŸ™‚

Start Planning My Days and Weeks in Advance – I used to be so good about planning out my to-do lists and my weeks. But, among everything else, my planner has been neglected as well. I have been slowly making to-do lists again, and boy, does it ever help to get a girl’s mind back on track!

I think the “theme” of this month needs to be PLANNING. Seriously though, that’s why I’ve been falling so far behind… I haven’t been planning well. I need to PLAN my time with God, PLAN my workouts and meals, PLAN my wedding, and PLAN the details of each and every day! I found this quote by Stephen Covey on Pinterest – I think this should be my “quote of the month” πŸ™‚Important words from a man who knew a thing or two about productivity! Focus on your priorities and build them into your schedule!: Schedule and PLAN my priorities. That’s what needs to happen this month! And last but not least… one of my favorite “planning” verses from the book of Proverbs…

“A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.” Proverbs 16:9

No matter what I plan, God is still in control, directing my steps. I am so thankful for a God who cares about all the details of my life, big or small. πŸ™‚

I have a lot of the same goals from last month, but one big one is to have a time of prayer each day. I tend to pray a lot througout the day while I go about my every day life, but I would like a time set-aside where I can really focus.
