15 Bible Verses to Help You Get Motivated

If you’re anything like me, then I am sure there are times when you run out of motivation. As young women, there are a lot of things we should be doing, but sometimes we aren’t self-disciplined or motivated enough to do them. Β If that sounds like you, then here are 15 Bible verses taken from the Old and New Testaments to give you a little bit of a nudge. πŸ˜‰

Proverbs 12:24

β†’ This should be the ultimate motivation of a Christian! To do all things “as to the Lord”!

2 Timothy 2:15

“Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15

  1. My favorite bible verse or one of them is, Jeremiah 29:11 KJV – For I know the thoughts that I think toward thee, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

      1. I’ve been studying Jeremiah 29:11 – I have found that it literally means that God knows the purpose that He has for us. There are hundreds of paths that He can take us on to get there. Often we feel that we have strayed so far or so many times that God’s plan is lost. Listen, beloved, God is so much bigger than our mistakes! If you think you’ve ruined the plan of God, believe me, you are NOT that powerful! Be encouraged, He always has a new path to get you to His purpose for your life, and oftentimes, the path is just as important as a growth mechanism as the actual destination. And that new path isn’t taking us to the “standby” or “second-best” destiny. It’s always His BEST. God’s love and grace are unfailing, even when we continually fail, He is faithful.

  2. Hi Rebekah,

I find that a good motivation verse for me is Romans 1:16, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.” It is a good reminder to be bold with the gospel and that God empowers us!

  3. I loved reading these Bible verses and seeing how a Christian should always be working hard and should never give up! It’s encouraging because the Devil always tries to get us to give in and give up, but that should never be in the vocabulary of a Christain! πŸ™‚

  4. All great and motivating verses! Thank you for sharing, Rebekah! πŸ™‚
I love Philippians 2:13, “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.”
As we choose to take action, no matter how we feel, we can and should also ask Him to work the inner desire in us! Good stuff! πŸ˜€

  5. Thank you, Rebekah, I needed this post this week! ❀️ Two more verses cane to mind.”Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord…” (Ephesians 6:8).

“Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:13-14).

    1. I think it’s interesting that you shared Philippians 3:13-14 – I’ve been thinking about those two verses both yesterday and today! Thanks for commenting πŸ™‚
